You care for someone you love. We’re here to support you.
Infinite Life Works helps eligible Minnesota families access paid caregiving through the 245D services we’re licensed to provide. We train and support family caregivers, help coordinate the process, and handle the agency details so you can focus on caring for your loved one.
What paid family caregiving looks like with us
Many people with disabilities already get daily support from a parent, sibling, spouse, adult child, or other relative. In our model, that family member may be hired and trained by Infinite Life Works to provide some of the person’s authorized 245D services as a paid caregiver.
You keep caring for your loved one in the way you know works best. We take care of the agency side, including onboarding, training, documentation requirements, and ongoing support, and we coordinate with the person’s case manager and support team.
What usually needs to be in place
- Minnesota Medical Assistance with a disability waiver. Such as a CADI, DD, BI, or CAC waiver.
- An assessment and a support plan. The person’s case manager uses the assessment to plan and authorize services.
- Authorized services we provide. The plan needs to include services from our 245D license. See our services.
- A family caregiver who meets agency requirements. Including a background study and the training we provide.
Good to know: Whether a particular family member can be paid for a particular service depends on the person’s service authorization and program rules. We’ll talk it through with you and your case manager.

Family caregiver FAQs
Answers to the questions families ask us most. Don’t see yours? Call (651) 727-7377.
Can I get paid to care for my family member?
Often, yes. Relatives such as adult children, parents of adults, siblings, grandparents, aunts and uncles can be hired by ILW as caregivers for some services. Spouses and parents of minor children can’t be paid for these waiver services, and some services have their own limits; we’ll go over yours with you and the case manager.
What are 245D services?
“245D” refers to Minnesota Statutes chapter 245D, the state standards for licensed home and community-based services for people with disabilities and people age 65 and older. Infinite Life Works is licensed to provide the services listed on our Services page.
Do we need a case manager?
Yes. Waiver services are planned and authorized through the person’s case manager. If you’re not sure who that is, the person’s county, tribe, or health plan can tell you, and we can help you figure out who to call.
What training will I receive?
You will receive training on Minnesota 245D requirements, person-centered support, health and safety, service-recipient rights, incident and maltreatment reporting, documentation, and emergency procedures. You will also receive training specific to the individual you support, including their needs, preferences, support plan, and any specialized tasks required for their care. Ongoing and annual training will help you remain confident, competent, and compliant.
How many hours can I be paid for?
Hours are based on the person’s assessed needs and the services authorized in their support plan.
Does it cost my family anything?
For people who qualify, authorized services are paid by Medical Assistance; some programs, such as SILS, are county-funded. Some people have a monthly cost share, such as a spenddown, and the case manager can explain it.
What areas do you serve?
We serve individuals and families in all Minnesota counties. Specific service availability depends on the person’s authorization and our current staffing.
Do you offer services in languages other than English?
Yes. We provide free interpreters for the people we serve and their families that allow us to support caregivers in over 300 languages.
Families bring the love and commitment. We bring the training and support.
